We exist to build Community by providing the space and resources to foster self-directed learning and exploration in science, technology, engineering, art and manufacturing. We foster inter-generational relationships and provide incubation space and mentors for budding entrepreneurs.

Public Hours: Saturdays 10 am - 3 pm and all times the "OPEN" sign is lit.
There will be no set OPEN public hours during the summer, beginning June 18th. If you would like a tour of the facility or wish to use a day pass, please contact Gail Bliss to set up your customized hours - (574)340-1025 She will be unavailable from July 15-24 and August 15 - Sept 6th.

Space is available for Artists in the community to offer classes. More....The MakerSpace is designed for the community and will add studios as the community demands. Submit your ideas for tools and studios you would like to see added to the Niles STEAM Room.
New Instructor!
Introducing Constance Croom. She will be offering some sewing, serging and embroidery machine classes.
Bio: Hi, I am Constance Croom. I always say, I really don’t ever remember not knowing how to sew because my aunt, mother and grandmother were sewing something all the time. I have a certificate in custom alteration tailoring from Szalay’s European Custom Tailoring, who is a master tailor. I learned a lot from him and he helped to advance my skills. I knew how to sew and had the right concepts but the wrong method. Owning a business is something I’ve always wanted and for many years from home. In July of 2016, I was given an opportunity to open a custom alterations shop downtown Grand Rapids in an incubator space for two years. I have taught; learn your sewing machine basics, how to use your included accessories, reading your pattern envelope/instruction sheet, sewing and embroidering classes and tailoring techniques. What I focus most on is skill building because my goal is for you not to need me. |
