Instructor Bio
Hi, I am Constance Croom. I always say, I really don’t ever remember not knowing how to sew because my aunt, mother and grandmother were sewing something all the time.
I have a certificate in custom alteration tailoring from Szalay’s European Custom Tailoring, who is a master tailor. I learned a lot from him and he helped to advance my skills. I knew how to sew and had the right concepts but the wrong method.
Owning a business is something I’ve always wanted and for many years from home. In July of 2016, I was given an opportunity to open a custom alterations shop downtown Grand Rapids in an incubator space for two years.
I have taught; learn your sewing machine basics, how to use your included accessories, reading your pattern envelope/instruction sheet, sewing and embroidering classes and tailoring techniques. What I focus most on is skill building because my goal is for you not to need me.
